The Daily Bubbles

FRIDAY! Break out the party hats and noise makers! What to do this weekend?  How about a trip to Battle Creek?  There is an amazing Renaissance Faire going on, all this month.  It's called SilverLeaf, and it is a lot of fun.  There is shade to get out of the sun, shows to amuse and [...]

The Daily Bubbles

Another meltingly hot Thursday.  Approximately 90 days until it snows, give or take a week or so. Many cooling stations have opened around Michigan in an effort to beat the heat.  Check here for one in your area. I imagine the water parks are loving this weather.  Maybe I'll see you on the beach this weekend!

The Daily Bubbles

Ah, the summer festival season is well in hand.  Small towns all across the state are doing something to celebrate their uniqueness.  It's fun, it's a headache… it's summer. There are two rather big ones going on this week, for those of us who are musically  Image via Wikipedia inclined.  Lansing has Common Ground and Chesaning is [...]

Word to the World, the Bubbles is an open thread…. What can be more fun than an adventure with your most favorite (and frustrating) person? Yes, you got it in one. I'm talking about an adventure with your child. About now is when my daughter would hit 'stir crazy' mode. She'd been out of [...]

Cover of James Earl Jones Word to the world, the Bubble is an open posting thread. Happy Monday!   Did you know some very familiar well-known entertainment figures are from Michigan? Casey Kasem, James Earl Jones, and Francis Ford Coppola I found that both interesting and surprising.   This should give you something [...]

Weekend Bubbles

Candles

Word to the world, the Bubble is an open posting thread.   Some pretty horrific events occurred this week on the west side of our beautiful state.  A few families have been irreparably shattered.  I cannot imagine the shock and pain of those who knew and loved them.  My heart goes out to them. Murder [...]

The Daily Bubbles

Good Morning! It's Friday, so I thought I'd take a break from the endless circular political posturing and read about something personal and positive. Anyone familiar with Julie Bass from Oak Park? This time last year you probably hadn't, unless she is a personal friend or relative. Currently she is rocking her community and catching [...]

The Daily Bubbles

Every day, through my computer, I am able to talk in real time with people from all over the world… or just down the street. Something I often take for granted, not stopping to really think about it. It is quite amazing, though. How innovative is the human brain. No matter where one lives, [...]

The Daily Bubbles

It's summer in Michigan.  About 6 months ago, it sure didn't feel like these hot days would ever come.  Fortunately for the flowers, they have! Today I'll be found in my garden, caring for the delicate blossoms and tender greens.  Tomorrow will probably be devoted to the veggies. How is your farm patch doing?

The Bubbles!

One of my favorite places to detox will always be Port Huron, right on the grass along the river. I make the trek whenever I can, for sights like this. My daughter snapped these while we lounged on the grass, both of us with our own book. It's been several years ago now, and I [...]
