I am so upset about this. My husband called me from work after hearing it on the radio. Jim is a family member and they announce this before family is notified or allowing the entire family to be notified. It is not a proper way to find out you lost a family member.

Especially for his family if they had to find out through the internet. "Instant reporting" has some very serious drawbacks, and this is one of them.

They are reporting two killed - and I don't want to say who now in case family hasn't been notified - and that the shooter is in custody and has links to them both.

confirmed that Mike Fuoss, owner of Fuoss Gravel & co-owner of Eddy O'Flynn's is the 2nd victim.

Lots of rumors about things.  I just don't know what is true.  Most disturbing rumor to me is that there was a list of names of people to be killed today.  But at the press conference it was confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody w/o incident, so it seems to me that he must have been done with his killing.

I am following it on Facebook and the Shiawassee Forums, and through personal contacts.

Is there any word on whether these killings were motivated by Mr. Poullion's activism, or if he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time?  All I've seen is that the person in custody had ties to both victims.

Most everyone is assuming that it is due to his activism.  Of course that's what they are going to say whether it is true or not.  Personally I think it has nothing to do with his beliefs or his right to free speech.  He's going to be made into a martyr but I don't think that it had anything to do with abortion, especially considering the 2nd murder.

Yes, this person was already calling for martyrdom, while he still throws around terms like "baby killer" when describing others who have been victims of previous violence.

Prosecutor: Mich. shooting suspect cut arm in jail

OWOSSO, Mich. - A prosecutor says a man accused of fatally shooting an abortion protester and business owner in Michigan has been taken from jail to a hospital with a self-inflicted wound to his arm.

Shiawassee (shy-uh-WAH'-see) County Prosecutor Randy Colbry says Saturday that Harlan Drake suffered "a serious gash" after cutting his arm near the wrist but was expected to recover.

Drake is charged with gunning down the abortion protester and gravel pit owner in Owosso, Mich., on Friday. Authorities say the 33-year-old was arrested before fulfilling a plan to kill a third man.

Colbry told The Associated Press he doesn't know exactly when Drake cut himself or what he used to do so. Colbry says Drake was taken to a hospital for surgery.
