I was also embarrased. Nobody told me we were supposed to be dressed up. I was the only person wearing a T-shirt and jeans. But enough about me....
The event was more pleasant than you expect these types of ceremonies to be. There were speeches made by both Democrats and Republicans alike, and County Executive Brooks Patterson and Board of Commissioner Chairman Bob Bullard both said that they would be working with Meisner despite being from different political parties (you better guys-we'll be watching you to make sure!)
Still, Andy, if you're reading this, I hope you know that the right is going to be hitting you hard now. They're already going after Jessica Cooper (for those who don't know, she's our new Democratic Prosecutor), and the Republicans really hate that the Democrats are now in positions of power in the County for the first time in over three decades. You better be ready.
But congrats all around to Oakland County's newest treasurer. Let's hope his policies get implemented so we can help improve our economy in Southeast Michigan.
