Jase Bolger Roy Schmidt fraud still an issue

Gongwer released two articles yesterday detailing more information about the #bolgerschmidtfraud.

There’s so much disheartening information in these articles. So many people involved in doing such a skeezy thing.

M.S.P. Still Investigating When Prosecutor Ended Case; Dems Urge Reopening Inquiry

Documents, newly obtained by Gongwer News Service through the Freedom of Information Act, show that a State Police investigator waited for two months for the Department of State to hand over surveillance camera footage outside a local Grand Rapids branch office that could have shown Mr. Schmidt talking with the straw candidate he recruited to run against him. This was at a time when Mr. Schmidt was still publicly denying that he ever knew Matthew Mojzak, the straw candidate, and had an instrumental role in organizing the scheme.

Other key revelations the documents show include:

  • Mr. Schmidt (R-Grand Rapids) had spoken with an attorney about Mr. Mojzak’s legal issues and his son and nephew were strongly encouraging Mr. Mojzak to use their attorney instead of Mr. Mojzak’s attorney than was previously known.
  • Mr. Bolger (R-Marshall) texted Mr. Schmidt frequently about Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer. Mr. Bolger said what was best about the whole thing was that Mr. Brewer did not help Roy Schmidt run for Grand Rapids mayor and now he didn’t need Mr. Brewer. (See related story.)
  • Rep. Lisa Posthumus Lyons (R-Alto) became involved after the news broke and told Mr. Schmidt to make sure that Mr. Mojzak stayed quiet. (See related story.)

Here’s how Ruth Johnson and the Secretary of State office handled the video that the Michigan State Police were looking for:

According to the State Police report, the Department of State never gave investigators the video, but the report states that a Department of State investigator said the request for it had “stirred up a bee’s nest in the SOS administration.”

And why that Republican Prosecutor shut down the investigation before the police were finished:

“It might have been interesting to see who else might have been involved in this,” Mr. Forsyth said. “It’s interesting, but it’s not a crime.”

In other words, “oh pish.”

And on the Gongwer FOIA request of the records:

Gongwer eventually received 105 pages from the department, which represents about 5 percent of the total number of pages the State Police has available for the case.

This article also details the recruitment of Matt Mojzak as a Democratic straw candidate and the events between Bolger and Schmidt when the switch became public.

Brewer’s Name Came Up Often In Texts Between Bolger, Schmidt

“What I may love best is that Brewer wasn’t going to help u for Mayor. Now, u don’t need him,” Mr. Bolger texted to Mr. Schmidt on the morning of the filing deadline.

There it is!

I knew it! I knew that Schmidt wanted something and Brewer said no, and here it is. Mind you, I thought Schmidt was looking at State Senator in a few years, I didn’t have GR Mayor on my radar. But I knew it! We all knew it. You don’t have these childish payback feelings if you weren’t denied something that you childishly felt you were entitled to have.

And what better way to go after something that you feel you’re entitled to having, than to make a deal with the party that will do anything to win?

And then there’s this:

Mr. Bolger then added; “I forgot to ask: what r u going to do with Presidential race? R u willing to support (Mitt) Romney?”

“Let’s talk later, but yes,” Mr. Schmidt replied.

Well it makes sense; both Schmidt and RMoney are waffling little bitches who need someone someone else to prop them up. Jase Bolger, Paul Ryan, anyone with some kind of power will do in a pinch.

There’s tons more information in these 2 articles that you should go take a look at. http://www.gongwer.com
