The Daily Bubbles

Word to the world, the Bubbles is an open posting thread.

Maybe you've heard or been told the same thing I have.  With all of the pollution in the world, fighting for the ecology is pointless and in vain.  When I've been told this in the past, I tend to shake my head and move on… generally quietly cleaning up the mess left behind by said ignorant polluting person.

Yesterday, however, I found vindication for my own personal green reasons.

Once one of the most endangered species in America, the bald eagle is making a thriving comeback.  It made me smile as I read the local paper (which rarely happens).  Per the Argus Press of Owosso, there are now more than 700 breeding pairs in Michigan alone.

It's an amazing population leap from the 70s, when there were just 85.

A friend of mine has even told me we have at least one pair living here in Shiawassee County.  Although I've not found anything online to substantiate her claim, I learned several years ago to never argue with a teacher!  It tends to accumulate homework.

There's an adage which I've heard many times over the years.  It is generally attributed to the Native Americans.  "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."  Future Soapettes, I'm very happy to say, you won't have to read about these grand symbols of our country.  They are alive and thriving.  Because we care.

So, what's on your mind?

I am a writer, a student, a teacher, a philosopher, a parent, a child. All of these components have been essential in creating the woman writing to you today. Everyone has a purpose in life, be it huge or minor. We all have a role to play. Mine is to help others along the way, regardless of the Path they are called to follow. My students come to me of their own will, adapt my teachings to their own experiences and move on when they are ready. To my thoughts, this is exactly as it should be.

Per said friend, the eagles have been seen along the Shiawassee River between Shiatown and Corunna.  Logic stands this is most likely where they are nesting as well.  Maybe I'm going to have to rustle up a canoe from somewhere and check them out.
